Duckweed Urban Grocery has officially opened its doors in St. Pete’s Grand Central District, bringing a fresh take on neighborhood convenience. Located on the ground floor of the Tru by Hilton hotel at 1670 Central Avenue, this Tampa-born grocery store offers a thoughtfully curated selection of everyday essentials with a local twist.
Inside the 2,200-square-foot space shoppers will find pantry staples, organic produce, personal care items and a wide range of vegan, keto and gluten-free options. Duckweed highlights local makers, including Queen and Colony Bee Company honey and Bandit Coffee Co. beans. The cold cases are stocked with everything from craft beers by 3 Daughters and Green Bench to THC-infused beverages.
Duckweed began in 2011 with a simple mission: make city living easier. What started as a 550-square-foot shop in downtown Tampa has grown into a beloved local chain.
Don’t miss the playful murals of cartoon cats hidden throughout the store—created by artist Cory Robinson, they nod to the quirky charm of NYC’s classic bodega cats.
With its mix of quality goods, local flavor and creative flair, Duckweed is a welcome addition to the St. Pete scene.
